From Quito

There are buses that go directly from the Quito bus terminal to Canoa. They usually drop you off on the “Cancha” or main plaza. When you get off the bus, walk west towards the ocean, and when you hit the beach turn left and walk another two blocks. The Coco Loco will be on your left hand side. The overnight buses sometimes arrive in Canoa very early in the morning. If you arrive at this time of day, don’t worry, we have a night guard who can let you in and you’re welcome to put your backpacks down and hang out at the tables or snooze in a hammock until our staff opens the reception at 7:30 a.m.

From the south (Cuenca, Guayaquil, Manta, Montañita, San Vicente)

Buses from Manta, Guayaquil and other points south usually stop in San Vicente, which is about 20 minutes south of Canoa. When you get off the bus in San Vicente, just wait on the side of the road until one of the local combis passes by and flag them down. These are full size buses that say “Tosagua” on the side. It costs $0.65 to get to Canoa, and takes about 20 minutes. Get off the bus on the main highway once you are in Canoa. Head west towards the ocean (about 3 blocks) and when you hit the beach turn left and walk another two blocks. The Coco Loco will be on your left hand side.

From the north (Esmeraldas, Mompiche, Pedernales)

Buses from the north tend to come right into Canoa and usually make a brief stop at the Cancha, which is basically the central plaza. Get off the bus, walk west towards the ocean, and when you hit the beach turn left and walk another two blocks. The Coco Loco will be on your left hand side.
